ABOUT
Taranjit (Taran) Cheema is a trailblazing fashion designer from the vibrant city of Vancouver, British Columbia. With an innate passion for creativity and an eye for details, Taran has carved out a distinct niche in the world of fashion.
As a Punjabi girl raised in Vancouver, Taran often struggled with identity and community. Being around western cultures and embracing South Asian influences shaped her unique design aesthetic. After completing her Bachelors in fashion design, at Parsons the New School for Design located in NYC in 2013, Taran embarked on a journey to start her own brand with the aim to merge to push boundaries and challenge conventional norms.
During her time at Parsons, Taran’s talents were recognized, and her thesis collection was shared at the prestige’s Parsons Benefit Gala and the Parsons 560 Exhibition. Following her move back to Vancouver Taran launched her brand TKC Design Inc. and was immediately sponsored to showcase five collections at Vancouver Fashion Week over several years.
